The solid green line specifies the manually segmented emission sinogram support. Only LORs located within the emission sinogram support contribute to the PET image of the phantom/patient. This is not the case for the LORs illustrated by the dashed green lines, which penetrate only the hardware but not the phantom/patient. Their approximate location within the sinogram space is given by the dashed green circles
